Privacy Policy
Fete · Last updated 29 September 2026
Fete is a shared photo album for one party. This policy describes what the app collects,
why, and what you can do about it. It is short because the app collects little.
What we collect
-
Photographs you take in the app. Stored with the party you took them
in, and visible to the other people at that party. The look you shot through is
recorded alongside each one.
-
A display name. Whatever you type when you join. It is shown to
everyone else at the party so they know whose photographs are whose. It is not
verified.
-
An account identifier. Created automatically when you first open the
app, so your photographs stay yours to remove. It is not tied to your identity unless
you choose to create an account.
-
An email address, only if you create an account with one. Signing in
with Apple shares only what Apple sends us, and we do not ask for more.
-
An identifier for your installation of the app. Used for one purpose:
so that a host who removes somebody from their party can stop that person returning by
reinstalling. It is stored per party and is not used for advertising or analytics.
-
Fete+ purchase history and subscription status. If you subscribe on
iOS, Apple processes the purchase and RevenueCat receives the purchase record and
your Fete account identifier. We use them to verify your subscription, restore access,
prevent purchase fraud, and understand subscription activity. The record is linked to
your account; it is not used to track you across other apps or websites.
What we do not collect
- Your location. The app never asks for it.
- Your contacts, your photo library, or anything outside the app.
- Advertising identifiers. There is no advertising in Fete and no tracking across apps or websites.
Who can see your photographs
The people at the party you put them in, and nobody else. A party is reached by a code;
anyone holding that code can join while the party is open. The host of a party can
delete any photograph in it, and can remove a person from it — which deletes the
photographs that person contributed.
Parties close. Once a party has closed, nothing further can be added to it.
Reporting and moderation
Anyone at a party can report a photograph. A reported photograph is removed from the
party automatically and immediately, and set aside for review. You can also block
another person, which hides everything they post from you on your device, in every
party.
Removing your things
- You can delete any photograph you took.
-
You can delete your account from within the app, which deletes your photographs, your
memberships, and the account itself.
-
If you used the app without creating an account and then reinstalled it, the new
installation is a new identity and cannot remove what the old one posted. Write to us
and we will help.
Where your things are kept
Photographs and party data are stored using Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud
Firestore and Cloud Storage), which processes them on our behalf. Data may be stored on
servers outside your country.
On iOS, Apple handles subscription billing and RevenueCat processes purchase history
and subscription status on our behalf. We do not receive your payment card details.
Children
Fete is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information
from them.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects what we collect or who can see it, the date
at the top will change and the new version will be here.
